President and CEO Conway Fraser has over 30 years experience as a professional communicator and storyteller. He started Fraser Torosay in 2009 after an 18-year career as a Gemini Award-winning former CBC journalist. Conway personally oversees each and every project Fraser Torosay takes on. He is known as someone who asks the right questions and presents a crucial lens clients often hadn't considered. Based in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, Conway is a strong community advocate, which had led to Fraser Torosay doing hundreds of hours each year in pro bono work for charities. Conway is a Rotarian and sits on the TVO Board of Directors.
Randi Ray is Anishinaabe from Flying Post First Nation and an important Fraser Torosay partner who helps our clients bridge and develop important relationships with Indigenous communities. Randi grew up in Red Rock, a remote community 100km east of Thunder Bay. She has gained experience in education, health and mining sectors as a Provincial lead, lobbyist, advocate, strategist, researcher and learner. Randi is a PhD candidate and is passionate about improving the relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in Canada.
Richard Brennan is a trusted Fraser Torosay associate and partner. He has four decades experience as an award-winning journalist, with much of it covering politics at Queen's Park and on Parliament Hill. Because of his persistent and dogged style, many know him as "Badger". Richard was president of both the Queen's Park and Ottawa press galleries -- the only person to hold both offices. Based in Hamilton, Badger is the person you want getting you ready for media interactions because you're not likely to find anyone tougher.
Based in British Columbia, Fraser Torosay is proud to have Kevin on board as a west coast associate. He has almost 25 years experience in public relations — working for the forest industry, the BC Government — and since 2003 as the President of Kevin Brown Communications (KBC). Before working in communications, Kevin worked as a journalist with both the CBC and in private radio. He is regarded as a leader in his field, has been a member of the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) since 1999 and is the recipient of the Diamond Jubilee Award as CPRS Mentor of The Year and has been inducted into the CPRS College of Fellows.
Marjorie Malpass is a professional actor, writer and performance coach in Toronto — and a Fraser Torosay partner who helps clients master presentation performance skills. With 25 years of experience spanning TV, Radio, Film, Comedy and Live Theatre, Marjorie creatively delivers bold communication, presentation and levity skills. Combining her knowledge of the corporate world and the entertainment industry, Marjorie recently provided on-camera coaching for all three of the new Dragons on the CBC hit show, Dragon's Den. She is an expert at helping people perform their content to the best of their skills.
A 30 year veteran of the broadcast world, Hugh Burrill is best known in the Toronto media for his time at The Fan 590, CityTV, Breakfast Television and Sportsnet where he developed a relationship as a master storyteller, animated on-air performer and a pointed interviewer. His career spans widely from being the Senior News Writer to reporting live from the World Series. His understanding of the fast-paced world of the media and what reporters want and need in a hurry — is now an incredible asset as a Senior Media Coach with Fraser Torosay. Hugh’s insights during media training help make our clients some of the best on-air performers.
Based in St. John's, Newfoundland, Ronnie is an award-winning senior marketing and communications strategist and television producer. She owns Nine Island Communications, and for more than 20 years she’s helped people tell their story, engage stakeholders, and navigate some of the most challenging crisis situations. When she’s not developing strategies or rolling out multimedia campaigns, she’s training executives to work with the media and share their story confidently. She started her career in journalism and has held executive level positions in international organisations, governments, SMEs, and non-profits.
JP is a social media superhero. By day, he is the Director of Digital Strategy at Laurentian University — by night, he is the head of Rains Media and a valued Fraser Torosay associate team member who helps our clients succeed. JP understands how to strategise and implement tactics aimed at increasing our clients’ digital and social media reach and footprint. He has an expert-level grasp on the private sector as well. Armed with an MBA, he formerly led as Vice-President of Strategy for Soshal Group, where his work led to multiple national awards and record setting performances for a number of clients.
Angie is the co-founder of Fraser Torosay, the company's Business Manager, and the person who has tolerated, supported, and encouraged Conway since they met way back in high school in 1987.
